Kerrie Rd Neighbourhood House has a wonderful range of opportunities to support children to develop their artistic talents. During school terms we offer one hour workshops as well as 2 hour weekly Masterclass & a Teenage Art class for passionate young artists interested in developing technique using a range of mediums.

Kid’s Creative Painting and Drawing (5-12 years)

Our children’s art classes encourage originality and creativity, enabling children to explore various mediums and techniques. Children will work on a range of projects using pastel (soft/oil), paint (watercolour/acrylic) and pencil. These classes provide a wonderful opportunity for children to develop painting and drawing skills in a friendly and supportive environment. We run 2 age group classes 5-7 year olds and 7+.

Anime Drawing

Learn the fundamentals of character drawing & how to draw anime, cartoons & superheroes. Learn also about the history of popular anime/manga/cartoon artists. By the end you will have your very own drawings in your favourite styles to take home! We run 2 age group classes 7-10 year olds and 10+.

Kid’s Art Masterclass (8-12 years)

Our 2hr Children’s Art Masterclass is very popular. Please phone the Office on 9887 6226 to see if places are available. This program is suitable for students wishing to develop technique using a range of mediums (e.g. watercolour, acrylic, pastel, pencil, oils etc.). Students in Masterclass are required to make more creative decisions about their work and are encouraged to develop and extend their art vocabulary.

Teen Art (12-18 years)

If you have a teen passionate about art then this is the course for them. In the 2hr sessions students learn a variety of techniques and mediums from our Fine Arts qualified and experienced tutors.

Materials & Art Kits

Kerrie Rd Neighbourhood House provides a range of materials for use in each class. Children are also required to bring along their own set of art materials which they can purchase from our office as a kit and then bring to class each week. This helps children to learn how to care for their own materials and allows children to complete any unfinished work at home.

The one off kit cost is $35 and includes:

  • A3 Size White Cartridge Paper Pad
  • HB lead pencil, Eraser and Sharpener
  • Black Sharpie Waterproof Pen (Fine)
  • Oil pastels (Set of 24)
